Stefana Veljkovic and Ana Bjelica led the Serbian hitters to gain a straight-set (25:22, 25:19, 25:15) surge over Cuba in the third round of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Cup. Veljkovic and Bjelica recorded 10 points each for Serbia, while Daymara Lescay Cajigal and Heidy Margarita Rodriguez Lopez only managed to score six points each for Cuba. Serbia coach Zoran Terzic decided to let his top gunners Tijana Boskovic and Brankica Mihajlovic to rest. Serbia coach Zoran Teic said: "It’s difficult to play this kind of game when everyone expects we will win easily. We played with a lot of new players and I must be satisfied, as we won 3-0. Now we are in a little bit of a strange situation because every time we play, we need to think about our game, of course, but one part of our mind is on the other court in Nagoya. So we expect everything will be OK, and at the end of the competition we will qualify for Rio 2016."
